Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a great rehabilitative method of treatment. After a workout or training session, muscles will have undergone great stress and need recovery and refuelling. But in order for muscles to be restored to full functionality, Sports or Deep Tissue Massage is a great way to loosen up tight muscles and improve blood circulation. This allows freshly oxygenated blood to flow and repair any damaged tissues. Other benefits include: speed of recovery, improved flexibility and mobility and injury prevention.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive, specialist and breakthrough treatment for muscular skeletal conditions and chronic soft tissue injuries in the body. It works by sending mechanical pressure pulses into the affected area enhancing and stimulating blood circulation and breaking down any fibrous scar tissue which builds up over time, thus accelerating the healing process. This therapy alongside hands-on physiotherapy is a very effective treatment.

1:1 Pilates

The aim of Pilates is to strengthen muscles through a series of low impact and low repetition movements. The main focus is on breathing control and correct form throughout as a way to build strength without intense movements or burning out muscles. Pilates has a particular emphasis on the strengthening of the core along with the benefits of improving the body’s posture, flexibility and coordination. As a treatment, it is not only beneficial for recovery and rehabilitation of muscles but is also good relaxation and stress relief for the mind.

Acupuncture

Originating from Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture is a treatment used to aid the body’s own healing chemicals to manage inflammation and injury. It is known to reduce pain and rapidly increase recovery time in many injuries including strains, sprains, neck shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle pain, swollen muscles and shin splints. The treatment involves inserting small thin needles into the affected area and leaving them for (usually) 20-30 minutes, periodically stimulating the needles to ensure the muscles are still reacting. Acupuncture used alongside traditional physiotherapy techniques could not only aid recovery from injury but could also give an athlete an additional competitive edge.

Chiropractor

Chiropractors are healthcare professionals that focus on accessing and treating complications of a musculoskeletal system. They are known to have a special interest in treating spinal conditions however, they are trained and highly efficient at treating other joints around the body.

Chiropractors have a range of manual techniques at their disposal to help with your pain and function. They frequently use joint manipulations as their focal point of treatment. Manipulations are gentle and aim to reduce pressure in-between joints that have been building up over time. This causes an increase in movement for the joint and helps muscles around the area to relax.

At Rebuild Sports Clinic, we value the importance of a diverse team and we know the value of established chiropractor. At RSC, our chiropractors have many years’ experience, as we understand that the profession needs skilled hands to reduce risk and give a more effective therapy.

Sports Physician

Sports physicians have an increased understanding of the musculoskeletal system due to years of medical practice. This allows physicians to offer a more in-depth assessment of the clients’ condition, leading to a better outcome. Their use of non- surgical treatments can help improve recovery rate and prevent surgery.

Having a clinic with a physician working alongside a therapy team is very rare in today’s practice and with their thorough involvement and guidance, this combination will help the client get back to normality as soon as possible.

Most injuries can be managed without surgery; you just need the right team to do so. At Rebuild Sports Clinic, we have that team and our sports physician is at the centre of it!
